Well this is my first post of my new blog. Where to start….I guess I will introduce myself and my company first and go from there…..
My name is Steve Hornung….I am an artist firstmost, and i believe art is a beautiful and essential thing, which is present and necessary in everyone’s life (sometimes un-recognized)………. my business is The Creative Individual Company….www.thecreativeindividual.com…… and I believe our purpose for existing as a company has come down to this essentially……
“to create, fun, positive, creative, and safe environments for kids to start off their life in, and grow up with. To inspire creativity in them, and to hopefully play a role in making their childhood a little bit more fun, memorable, and just maybe influence their future positively”……..
The reason why i wanted to start a blog is…… i’ve felt somewhat disconnected from the public, our clients, supporters, friends etc…..and I wanted to start an ongoing discussion/dialogue on topics that I find interesting, relevant to my life, my friends and clients lives’, business, and also try to give/receive advice, and get feedback on what we are doing as a company.
So….I believe its really important if not essential for children’s imaginations to be creatively stimulated early, with art, music etc….and I feel murals and color in the nursery are a great way of doing this. What do you think? What are some other great ways to get kids imaginations racing early?
Thats it for now, a good start? I’m not sure but at least its started ….. I will be on here often asking questions, giving comments, advice, and also just spreading the word about stuff we think is cool. For Now, Please check out what we are doing and send us your feedback!….anything……if you think its cool, if you think its terrible, suggestions, ideas, related stuff for kids….people, companies you think we should know about…….anything.
Thanks for taking a minute to read and I sincerely hope to hear from you.

Nicely done Steve. All the best with your new blog.
You guys are extremely talented, as from my own childrens experiences I know they love to be involved……could an area be left on paste ups etc. for them to add their own personal touch without taking away from the great artwork itself?
Steve you are a stand-up guy ! Live life to the fullest
Hi there!
I found you on the Dragons’ Den site so some people are actually reading what is there. It can’t just be me and I’m sure that others will find their way over here. I found your concept really interesting and enjoyed browsing your collection. I blinked at a couple and I’m sure there was at least one that I just didn’t get. I’ll think of it as my mensa work out for the day.
The only constructive comment that I can pass along is that I knew, before I checked out who your were, that all of you were men by your grow charts. There isn’t one that would catch a little girl’s interest. I would suggest you collect an informal market group of little girls (borrow some from friends or hang around the girls’ section of Toys R Us for a few ideas) and ask them what they would like to see. I’m way out of their age range but perhaps a Rapunzel in the tower picture where the prince reaches her as the little girl grows?
Cheers! Cynthia
Steve, you do incredible work and our 3 year old can’t wait to get the 8 x 12 Astronauts on his bedroom wall.
It will completely transform his room into a work of art!
As soon as we put it up we will tell all our friends and family to come by to check it out.
If you have kids and want to do something unique in their rooms then put up one of Steve’s “Paste Up Murals”.
Cheers,
Steve
The mural we painted for you was from the States and was a paint by number. Nothing remarkable like your paste-ups and murals but it held your attention and tweaked your imagination. How wonderful!

Your website is great! I love to check in all the time to see the updates! The grow charts are a brilliant idea!!!
You and your guys are incredibly talented.
Keep up the good work. I’m so proud.
Just thought I let you know that I made a comment about your murals on a Facebook group. It’s called Yummy Mummy. A friend of mine happened to see my comment and is also spreading the word about how great your murals are. She’s still trying to pick one out—so many fabulous choices!
Coen is going to love his Astronauts!
